Maggie Diary 2 (California Diaries series) by Ann M. Martin

This book is about a girl losing weight. Her name is Maggie Blume and she is 13 years old. She starts a journal and writes down every bite that she puts in her mouth. She wants to go on this diet because she thinks she's fat. Her dad is a producer for a movie called "Never". She has a job reviewing the scripts but she hates her job (and his latest movie). She gets a call from her band "Vanish", they want to rehearse because it's been a long time since they had rehearsed. Basically this is a story about the difficulties of growing up. There are lots of characters. It is written so that you have to read the next book in the series and meet the other characters and their problems.

Savvy by Ingrid Law

Savvy is the Newbery Honor book for 2010. It is a fantasy about a family who has special powers that arrive on their thirteenth birthday. Mibs is the main character. She is super excited to be turning 13 and can't wait to discover her "savvy". She has a mom who is perfect, a brother who causes hurricanes and another brother who creates electricity. Her father (who doesn't have a savvy) gets into a terrible accident and Mibs is hoping that her savvy will help save him. She sneaks onto a bus with her two brothers and the preacher's children to go to her father who is in a hospital 2 hours away. Read the book and find out if Mibs savvy can help her father and if she is able to get to him in time!

Grim Hill the Forgotten Secret (Book 3)

This book is part of a four book series about evil fairies who live inside Grim Hill. Cat just wants to live a normal life but thats impossible in this town. The soccer team isn't doing well so they have to learn ballroom dancing. Cat plans a Valentines dance and wants to get this really cool dress but it costs $107. Cat puts up signs saying she is willing to do some comunity service to earn some money to buy the dress. The first people who called were Alice and Lucinda. They asked her to help load up some boxes from their garage. Cat found a valentine that Lucinda had kept for 70 years. Can Cat piece together the mystery behind the 'sweetheart fairy' and the evil banshee?

Knights at Dawn By Mary Pope Osborne

Knights at Dawn is in a series called the Magic Treehouse.It is the second book in the series. Be sure to read the first one.

This story is about Jack and her younger sister Annie.They find a treehouse with these magical books inside. While Jack was looking in an informational book, Annie opened a knights and castle book. She saw a picture of a knight in black armor. Annie pointed to the picture and Jack dropped his book, "NO ANNIE NO'' he screamed. But it was too late Annie had said. "I wish we could see this knight in real life." She dropped the book and the treehouse started to spin and spin. When the spinning was done Jack looked out the window and already saw Annie running to the castle door.

Alone in an Untamed Land By Maxine Trottier

Helen has to leave france forever. The king Louie the 14th sent Helen, her sister Cathrine and lots of other females across the atlantic ocean all the way to Montreal Qubec Canada, where they have to get married. durring their ride a storm hits and lots of youg ladies dye including Cathrine. For the past weeks Helen weeps non stop. an indian girl was up on the deck she was weeping to, but her tears were tears of joy she said " I'am going home." Thats how they became friends she also told Helen she half french half mohawk her n ame is Kateri. Kateri means Cathrine and thats when Helen talked all about her life to Kateri. Kateri showed Helen to her dad Mr. Aubry they also became great friends. finally in the next few months " we're here" shouts Helen. "no not just yet the ship won't take us any futher so we're going to have to travel by small boats. the rest of the way to Montreal" said Mr. Aubry. READ ON TO FIND OUT IF THEY GET THERE OR NOT.

Babymouse- Cupcake Tycoon

Babymouse cupcake tycoon is about when Babymouse was in the school library and triped and fell. She also knocked over the bookshelve which knocked over the next bookshelve, then the next, and the next and so on so on. To fix the library her class was having a fundraiser they were going to sell cupcakes and Babymouse absolutely loves cupcakes. I would highly recomend this book for people who love graphic novels and I would rate this book with five stars. Find out what happens next in the CUPCAKE TYCOON!!!!!!!

Smile by Raina Telgemeier

Over the Christmas holidays, I read the book, Smile by Raina Telgemeier. It's a true story about a girl named Raina. The book starts with Raina in 6th grade and continues through to 9th grade. The main thread in the story is when Raina trips and her two front teeth fall out, and how that accident changed her life till high-school.
